On the morning of 25 May, the area resounded with the sound of bagpipes as De La Salle Holy Cross College held its Highland Gathering.
The field was abuzz will special guest pipers and drummers, as well as graceful traditional dancers who brought this amazing event to life and entertained the thousands of visitors.
There was also a varied market, and giant jumping castles and wall climbing for children.
The many delicious food stalls ensured all the attendees were well fed, and for young and old alike, the tea garden, with a view of the toddler play area, offered a quiet retreat from the crowd.
The bustling beer garden had an atmosphere that was hard to beat, and its dedicated gin, wine and beer bars added to the festive feel.
As is tradition, the mass bagpipe band performed at the end of the day, and the attendees were in awe as over 100 pipers marched across the field.
Rosemary Attwell, organiser of this year’s gathering said, “A huge thank you goes out to my team, and everyone who contributed to the enormous success of the event – and to all the visitors who enjoyed a little Highlands Heritage with the College on the day.”
